Default Oregon 9900 vs 10000

SD's are offered in those 2 gross weights. Why?
Is there an advantage to the lighter or heavier?

The 9900 gets more HP. ??!
Maybe what I need is the F250 SRW Crew Cab Short Bed 4x4 GVWR 9900 and the 4.3 axles. It will more than double my current payload rating and give me 4000 lbs more towing capacity.

oh, well i thought the GVWR was limited to 9900 as an option, so that you weren't in the 10,000+ lbs weight class i could be totally wrong but thought i heard that somewhere

DMV/DEQ thing in the Portland Metro area is for DIESEL engine trucks over 8750 lbs are exempt from having to pass emissions testing. So screw the real world. I'd like to emit something on their desks.
I will be buying a gasser.
In some states the numbers matter but now I don't need to be concerned.
