Default New 7.3 Gas.

Just seen proof that Ford will soon release a 7.3 Ford gas engine. Presumably the V10 replacement. Will be available by 2020.

I don't know if that will happen. Ford is seeming to like to go smaller in their gas engines (think 6.8 V10 to 6.2 V8, also they had the 5.4 V8). I did some Google searching and only found a couple posts of a possible 7.3. It sounds more likely of a 7.0, however like I said I think they'd aim for the smaller engine.

Rumors were a 7.0, but Ford's internal documents confirm a 7.3 gas. It is replacing the 6.8 V10.

Its slated to be a 7.3, and I am sure it's all but confirmed based on this document that I found.

My fault, didn't see the above post. Beat me to it!

That would be very surprising seeing how everything Ford has made lately keeps getting smaller and smaller in displacement. I could see a 5.0 Ecoboost before a large 7.3L gasser. Miracles can happen though I suppose.

Not a miracle, just a V10 replacement. Not sure the F250/350's will see the 7.3, Might just be 450/550 and motor home chassis.

Does anyone find it strange that the 5.0 is not on that engine vehicle program sheet?

That is very odd! Hopefully it's not going away. But ya never know....seems the only way Ford is going is by pushing EcoBoost to everyone whether we want it or not.
