New 6.2L MPG's?
Does anyone have a new 2012 Super Duty with the 6.2L gas V8? If so, what are your MPG's like? What size tires and gears are you running?
I ask because I was looking at one with the 6.2L and the 4.30 Locking rear end and I wanna know how bad I'd be eating it with gas lol

My new 2012 6.2 MPGs
I got a brand new 2012 on Friday and drove it 150 miles, avg 14.5 so far. I crammed it down a few times and wow does it have the get up and go. I am not sure how long I can keep the 14.5 though most of the trip was open road with a few hills. I can do better than that on a 4 lane highway, but around rural roads thats is pretty good.
Tires are stock Michelins LTX AT2 275 70 18s with 3.73 electronic locker.
I traded in my 3.5 ecoboost which was at around 16-17 but I drove it like an old man with a prius to get that. If I got on it I averaged 12-14, I figure if I can get 13-14 with the power and size of the F250 6.2 then I'll be happy.. I absolutely love the Truck. XLT with FX4 and premium / chrome packages. Back up cam, rear sliding window with defrost.. and that new smell for now.. my F150 was dark green and I live on a gravel road so it always looked dirty.. the F250 is oxford white and crystal clean right now..

X2 I traded my 12 Eco for a left over F350 lariat short bed crew and love it. I was only getting 14.5-17.5 in my F150 and I get 12.5 but only have 550 miles on it but now I will never run out of payload capacity on my 350 like I did on my 150 with our 8000lb dry camper with just me in the truck and nothing in the bed. I have a honda accord to drive back and forth to work that get 32 mpg so I do not mind the mpg's of the F350.

Sounds like we were getting similar mileage and have the same thoughts on it. I like my new rig and have a little BMW that gets 28 for my commuter. I just always had doubts about the ECO and its stuttering at times, I felt like I was likely sucking moisture into the cylinders through the intercooler.. oh well time will tell on the DI twin turbos..
As far as the 6.2 it is strong enough for me and the standard technology is ok to work on if needed, I like the fact that I can actually reach the oil dipstick which I couldnt in my Eco.. Also i can already tell that oil changes will be a breeze compared to all those panels. clip, troughs, and being covered in oil. Hate to slam on it so much, but also justifying my trade up to a better situation. I have no regrets and really love the 250 with 6.2. I did some city driving today and my screen reads 13.8 mpgs

The guy I live with has a 2013 6.7 f350 dualy that hes put 15000 miles on in the padt month-month and half being that he owns a hotshot company. He tows 15 to 24000 pounds was the heaviest and it rarely gets less than 10 mpg on nasty backroads. Overall I think his avg is around 11 mpg.
