Easy does it. Lol. I went to the lease this weekend, so I decided to do a little test. These are estimates based on the trip meter, I'll re confirm with the hand calc later. It was myself, my 50lb son, a few bags, two fully loaded Yeti 65qts in the rear.

6.7 crewcab 4x4, 355s

I drove 80+ and higher, down there, heavy traffic on the way out, and averaged 14 mpg.



On the way back, I filled up again, reset the trip and set the cruise at 71, and no matter what, did not deviate until I got to my neighborhood. I averaged almost 19.


None of this is scientific, but I took my GF and my son to lunch downtown next am, drove aimlessly in Houston for 3-4 hours. I took it easy, no crazy acceleration, kept it 65-70 on the freeway. When we got home I was still at 18.9 mpg.

 

It really is impressive how far these trucks have come, burning cleaner and getting good mileage to boot. I think I need to get into your career field, nice big superduty AND yeti coolers! Haha

 

It might have been in regen mode when it was getting the bad mileage, then on the way back it wasn't in regen. Man, I hate these DPF's..

 

The 09-10s would regen sometimes for what seemed like 30 min. The 6.7s regen every 200 miles or so but the light is on for about a second or less and I've never seen the mileage drop. It's more of the lead foot that drops the mileage. If I do 85-90 for 500 miles I get 14.

 

Our 2011 F350 got 18-19mpg for the first month or so, and has never gotten past 14mpg after that. It regens EVERY time we drive it. But no, the dealer says that's "normal". I love the truck, but damn... we have bad luck apparently.
