looking at buying a used SD 7.3L...thoughts?
I am looking at buying my first diesel....looking at an 01 F250 with 7.3L...the truck has 235k on the clock, no fifth wheel attachment and seems to be in good condition...little leary on mileage, but that's from a gas state of mind...they are asking 6999.00 for the truck...what do you guys think?
Thanks!

in my opinion that's a decent price if there has been transmission work done, if not that trans is on borrowed time and you should be prepared for a replacement or at least a rebuild. there are some anomalies, but typically expect 150k out of those transmissions (especially if you don't know the complete history). check thoroughly for leaks throughout the truck, and use whatever work needs to be done as points to talk the seller down. good luck and if all is well i know you'll walk away with a great truck.
