Default HP, Torque question

I currently have a 13 Ecoboost. Engine specs are 385hp/420lbs torque. My truck has a little issue pulling my 7k lb trailer even though I'm rated to pull 7900lb max based on the wicked formula you use.

Anyhow, i'm in the market for a bigger truck I've been eyeballing the F250 diesel and gas truck.
I can't see spending all that extra money on a bigger truck when the gas engine specs is similar (HPnos same, F250 has additional 20lbs torque) To my Ecoboost. Am I missing something here? I'm guessing if I were to get a gas engine in the F250 I'm going to have the same struggling issue with pulling a 7000 pound trailer as I am right now?

It's struggling because of poor low end torque. Ecoboost 3.5L makes 420 lbs.-ft. of torque @ 2500 rpm.

Ford Ranger T6 3.2L (Diesel) makes 470NM 350 lbs. ft. of Torque @ 1500 rpm.

So 405lb of torque at 4500 Rpm is a lot better?

NOPE, more torque at low RPM is much better.

Wow! So getting a F250 gas Will put me in a worse situation than I'm currently in with my F150 eco-boost?

YUP, turbo produce a lot of low end torque. 3.5L non-ecoboost will only make 253 lbs.-ft. @ 4250 rpm

Damnnnnn! I have been eyeballing the diesel super duty, and in the meantime I came across a lot of good super duty gas trucks but seeing as how getting a super duty gas is going to put me in a worse situation than what I'm currently in right now with my eco-boost I guess it only makes sense to get the diesel

How big is your wheels? Using smaller wheel will fix your problem.

The reason why E150 can tow much better than F150 (Same Engine, Transmission & Axle) is because the it's using a smaller and lighter wheels.
