F550 problem

Default F550 problem
have a 1999 f550 with the 7.3 diesel and it idles like complete garbage, dies etc. but runs fine off idle. what do you think the problem is?

are the fule filters clean? How many miles on it?

ill check the fuel filters. it has 400,000 miles on it..

Smoke at all while idling? Check engine lights? Whats the oil look\smell like?

no smoke at idle, no check engine light, oil is alright
