If you bought your SD to actually do some work, like towing and hauling, lifting your truck is going to be very detrimental to its functionality.

I'm with acadianbob here. Lifting a truck meant for work just complicates things even more. Say goodbye to using gooseneck and 5th wheels. Say hello to extra work lifting things into the bed.

But whatever you like...

Again, wrong. My gooseneck is still usable, and my truck has a 6 inch lift. Most good trailers have adjustable necks.

Yes but adjusting the neck longer can end up with the nose either high or the trailer level and the walls of your bed too close to the frame of the hitch to have good clearance going in and out of curb cuts etc while turning. See this all the time with horse trailers.

Luckily I’m not towing horses, ever. Lol.

The whole notion of lifting a truck ruins the towing performance is mostly just ignorance with no experience. I’ve never owned a truck that stayed at stock height, and they’ve all towed my heavy wakeboard boats over the years. No issues.

A truck with any significant lift is worthless for towing a 5th or gooseneck unless you lift the trailer accordingly. I have no idea what Ford was thinking with the new Superduties, but they WILL lose market share in that area.

That is the reason I bought a 16 vs 17! Ford was the only holdout up to 16, the GM twins and the Rams were already higher bed and wall height and causing issues for GN horse trailers. The biggest problems were rear tire blow outs due to nose high trailers overloading the rear axles. The high bed walls keep guys from lowering the nose at the coupler shank because there is not enough clearance there if they do.
