f150 for f250?

My 2015 f150 screw, 4x4 Lariat is at the dealer for some overdue issues with a wiring harness and now they found another bad wiring harness. Too long to go into. Suffice it to say it has been bad enough that the dealer offered to get me out of that truck anyway they could without costing me money. We had already decided to buy a travel trailer and I was really concerned about towing what we want in a trailer with the f150. Dealer, a friend of mine, called Friday and informed me it would be several more days in the shop and out of the blue asked, "have you ever thought about getting a F250?" I had not. I looked at the price of them and immediately wrote them off. He has a 2016 F250 6.7L Lariat with 26K miles. I went and got it and am now test driving it. I have to say it rides better than I thought it would. I have no idea how much we will go camping as this is our first travel trailer so it will mostly be a daily driver and I only have a 10 mile round trip to work. Still not sure if it is way overkill or would it be terrible to drive it like that everyday? Never owned a diesel. I have to say so far, I love driving it. It is a bad a** truck but that is not a reason to get it. It would be CPO so 7 yrs/100K mile warranty is a plus too.

i have to say if i ever did replace my 14 lariat 4x4 hd, it would be with a f250 or f350 lariat diesel. i guess the only thing i would miss is the 4a. i hope u have the habit of starting the truck up 5 min before u drive it. take that habit to the f250 and i don't see why the short trips would be an issue.

The f250 doesn't have it? I noticed the locking hubs but they say Lock and Auto on them and there is a switch on the dash for 2h, 4h, and 4L

the lariat f150 and i think the platinum and limited have 2wd, 4a, 4h and 4L. that is why i wanted a lariat. the 4a is handy in the rain ect. the superdutys don't have the 4a. 4a is the traction controlled awd on the f150's. back slips front gets more power. not for off road use too much.

There are a lot of misconceptions on the internet about diesels for DD. New diesels are not like the old. You do not have to let it warm up 5 minutes before driving. Crank it and go just like your F150.

You have a very short commute so you will not have time in that commute to clean your DPF. That will require a 30 minute drive on the weekends to clean out.

The Super Duty doesn't have 4A, but is that really a deal breaker? You're getting a lot more truck for your money. I have never spun a tire in this truck on pavement unless I wanted to.

The auto on your hubs is so that you can just switch the transfercase in the cab. 4a in the F-150's from what I understand is that the truck goes into 4x4 on its own if it feels the rear wheels slipping.

I would say for your commute maybe a diesel isn't the best idea. Also have you looked into all the costs associated with a diesel? Diesels sound nice, but something as simple as an oil change is a lot more than a traditional gas truck. Add in the fact you need to add diesel exhaust fluid, repairs cost a lot more, and the gas trucks look a lot better lol. I looked at a '16 6.2L and it was just not my cup of tea. The 6.7 diesels were out of my price range and there's no way I'd get into a 6.4 so I ended up with an '06 F-250 King Ranch diesel. I don't need a diesel (don't really need a truck to be honest), but I'm just a stupid kid that likes the sound and smell so I bought one.
