F-450 Engine Surge
Yes, an F-450 V 10 can have engine surge. It has happen to me several times: slowing to a stop, in PARK,under cruise control [no "fat-foot" even near the pedals and floor mats removed!], hitting RESUME to cruise, etc.
All of these incidents have been logged. A typical incident under Cruise on a long slight grade: Engine @ 2400 RPM and Cruise @ 63 MPH, the engine goes thru some violent shifts from 2400, to 3100, to 3700, to 4100 to 5100 and then back to 2400 all with in 10 seconds. Three different VDRs have been installed and have failed to capture the incidents due to faulty DVRs!
Throttle Body Unit was replaced and incidents continue as before.
