Just got back from a 2300 mile round trip in my truck...cruised at the posted limit..even 70 mph. Truck didn't shake at all even passing semi's when I punched it and got up to 80 mph. What a nutty statement that guy made!

The death wobble on these have been identified as being a bad track-bar ball joint. To test it, park on solid ground (concrete), have one person watch the track-bar ball joint while a second person turns the steering wheel back and forth. There should be no movement (i.e. clunking back and forth of this ball joint). You cannot jack up the truck and push/pull on the tires to test for movement.
For years they used a regular bushing on the track bar and with the 2011+ changed the lower side of the track-bar to a ball joint. The bushing will last 200,000 miles before needing repaired but the ball joint goes out every 40k miles or so. They even sell kits to change it back to a bushing nowadays.
