Default dash cam

Has anyone direct wired their dash cam to a upfitter switch? I have my cam routed around the passenger door trim ect into the glovebox 12 volt plug... Looks like a direct route to the upfitter switches.

Thanks

Why would you want it on an upfitter switch? I just spliced in another 12v behind the lower 12v on my '06 so it's plugged in and hidden.

I have to agree with you on this. Why would anyone want the upfitter powering the dashcam?? I have the upfiiter switches but chose to tap into fuse box on passenger side for direct power on/off with the key. Just a turn key and go mode. No more worrying about on or off. People and kids accidentally turning it off. Just too risky for a dashcam. My dashcam won my claim against a guy who T boned me with my last truck.
