Agreed. Cummins is where its at, but the rest of the truck is royal crap. A ford super duty with a cummins or cat and allison transmission and it would be an unstoppable machine. Ford has the worst diesel imo, but the rest of the truck is better than everyone elses.

Maybe newer Ford diesels are horrible, but hard to kill that 7.3. Would say that Duramax is the worst in my opinion. Nobody I know owns one, and I have never heard anything good about them.

Cool. A construction worker at our church, has a 88 pre-turbo 7.3. He pulled and hauled stuff constantly. He put almost 400k before the engine gave out. He had a new one put in. My brother has an 01 with the 7.3. Truck has gave him some problems, but he beats it pretty badly. The worst thing was the chip burnt his computer and some sensors out, but he has around 170k I think.

The 7.3 has been good to everybody I know that has one. My dads has 220K and still going strong with out any issues so far and he really pulls heavy at times.

7.3s are good because a guy I know has one with 275 and another has 300k on it and they both run really good
