hey guys, i didnt want to start a new thread for this and it looks like there are several people on this thread...issue with 01 F350 SD..4X4..four door..dually...V10...ABS and disc all the way around. The brakes wont let go after I brake. Pads, Calipers,Hoses been changed, ABS and master cylinder has not. This has been an issue for some time and the mechanic i take it to is stumped. He called ford and they are stumped too (doesnt suprise me though).....the ABS pumps are a joke, and really expensive to replace from what i hear. How do I get around it if its the ABS pump holding pressure to the brakes?....if its not the ABS pump and its the master cylinder then no big deal but I really dont want to deal with that pump. When the situation arises and i DO need ABS, ill more than likely be in four wheel and the abs doesnt do anything anyway. Why did we even add that stupid crap?...vehicles drove just fine for the first 80 years we had them without abs....

I know that my 02 diesel had the abs pump cycle while I was waiting on the glow plugs. I would say that it is computer runs it so I would think that there is no way around it. I would start with the master cylinder first but find a second opinion. I would bleed the brakes again to make sure there are no air bubbles in the lines.
