Archoil Diesel Oil Additive

Has anyone heard of this stuff? Supposedly an oil based additive to save your powerstroke turbo. There is also a fuel additive version too. Just looking for opinions if it is worth the money or just newest version of snake oil. Thx.

There are a lot of people who will swear by the stuff but as far as I am concerned its snake oil. Putting it in your oil and not having a problem with your truck doesn't mean that it works. So people swearing by it are doing so without knowing whether or not it really saved them from premature engine failure. There are plenty of people who don't use additives who have their engines run a long time. There are various studies done on the additives as well and if I recall correctly, most seem to conclude that they don't do anything. Some of them may even cause more problems than they claim to solve.

That's what i kinda thought too, but I don't know. I'll probably just stick to what the manual says.

I'm not going to use it. Just buy quality oil

There's a really good additive to prolong engine life. Its called quality oil changed at a proper interval. Personally I run Shell Rotella T6/5w40 in my PSD.

I use the Shell Rotella T6 5-40 synthetic and the archoil additive. I use Motorcraft oil/fuel/air filters and added the sinister coolant filter and oil bypass filter. Quality lubricants/filters are cheap compared to motor parts. Just my 2 cents.

When I first bought my 6.0 I took Bill Hewitt (Powerstroke help)'s "Archoil challenge". I bought the AR9200 (fuel additive) and AR6200 (oil additive). I put it in when I first bought the truck, but I did an oil change about 3k miles ago and didn't put in the AR6200 and I don't see or feel any difference. Now it might be a very slight difference in lubricity so it might make parts last a little longer, but for the price of it I think I'll skip out on the AR6200.

I still have the AR9200 and put 25ml or what ever the measurement is in each full tank of fuel, sometimes I've forgotten and again I've seen, felt, and heard no difference. I'll use it until it's used up but I doubt I'll buy it again.

I don't think Archoil is meant for a good running truck, I think it's meant to help remedy some issues like stiction and things of that degree. Putting it in a good running truck might be preventative maintenance and it might be a waste of money, the decision is yours.

Waste of money is right. I have a 2015 Platinum diesel. Bought an 8oz bottle of AR6200 hoping to see better MPG. 500 miles in, I have not seen any benefits from it. Perhaps on older non-HEUI engines, there might be some benefit. I'm not sure. But as far as I seen, it is snake oil. I still have half a bottle and don't plan to add anymore into the truck.
