Default 8.0L Gas Engine??

I have seen on Ford's website that the two engine options for 2012 are the 6.2L gas and the 6.7L diesel...but I had a boy telling me today that you can get a bigger engine, he said he knows someone who is getting a 8.0 or something like that, in gas! Is there any truth to this or is ol dude just blowin smoke?

The only 8.0L gas engine I can remember in recent history is the Dodge Viper/ Dodge Ram V-10. I think your boy is smoking the good stuff.

GM made a 8.1 liter motor but not sure when they stopped or if... Dodge as stated 8.0 liter motor was in Dodge Viper and also came as a option for trucks also. The Ford excursion had a V10 motor but it was a 6.8 Liter.... But 8 liters is about a 489 cubic inch engine...

A 460 can be bored well over 8.0l. I'm not sure if that's what the boy was talking about or not..

SVT did put out a 10.0l mustang in like 94. It never really ran but it was pretty cool.

Chevy made an 8.1 gas engine in pickups until 2004. You can still order a crate engine though.

Yea... especially with all the new mpg requirements. I'm sure the 10.0L will get at least 25 mpg.
