2017 F250 supercrew gas milage

I am in the market for a Super Duty. 250 diesel. Everyone I've asked that owns ne says they get 19-20 mpg average. That's the same as my F150. Is it truly possible for a super duty diesel to get that high of gas mileage?

So I'm not in the new model but the previous 6.7. It depends on what your doing for driving. I can pull 19-21 sustained driving at 75mph but mixed in town and highway (70 in 30 hw) I'll see 13.5-15.5. But new ones are lighter and I have the camper package and 3.55 gears

My last Powerstroke was a 2014 6.7 CCLB 4x4 with 3.55. I put 25k miles on it building homes just like I still do today. Sure you can see 18-20 on the hwy running empty and flat. But that's not how I would ever spend an entire tank of fuel. I drive around town a lot , grabbing supplies and doing errands. My full tank hand calc'd fill ups were always in the 15-16.5 range. For the same driving I do today, my 2017 6.2 does 12.5-12.8.

Thanks. That helps. So, the 6.7 diesel does get about the same gas mileage as my 5.0 v8 F150. I've never had a diesel before. I've always heard they are more expensive to service and maintain. Can someone give me an idea of exactly how much more expensive and how often? I would solely be buying the diesel to pull our travel trailer more effectively and safely in mountainous areas and longer distances. Otherwise, it would be used as a daily driver. I'm not in construction or need anything other than my half ton on a daily basis. ...I wear a suit to work everyday. I don't live in a large city, either. I live in a more rural town about 70 miles outside Atlanta and generally drive 250 miles a week total. Just trying to figure the practicality of getting the larger truck for pulling the camper once every month to six weeks.

An oil change will cost you a minimum of $100. Fuel filters need to be changed every 10-20kmiles depending on who you ask. Once a month you'll need to drain out the fuel water seperator to keep water from getting to the injectors. The smallest amount of water making it to an injector will quickly turn very costly.
They do cost more to maintain and can get ungodly expensive to repair. You absolutely have to stay on point with the regular and preventative maintenance.
Depending on the weight of your camper you would probably be better served by looking as a gas model F250.

Edit: fuel filters as noted above. I bought mine on amazon recently. Cost like 70. Dealer wanted 90 something plus an hour labor. Draining lower filter is a must as well as other poster stated

70-75 and averaging 18-20 I just don't believe.
Ive had plenty of these and if you get it around 55-60mph (stock wheels/tires) for a length of time, you may see that.... is anyone with a short bed (26 gal) getting 500+ miles on a tank?

You don't have to believe it. I've never been one to lie about what kinda mileage I get. I personally don't care much because I haven't payed for my own fuel since 2005. Today's tank was 363 miles before I refueled. Got 13.362 hand calculated. Been very cold here as of late. Single digits highs and negative lows. Over a foot of snow around. Prob spend 100 miles in 4 wheels drive.
