I see something different, yet it is a good strategy. OP is wanting to try a non Big 3 truck.

Have an opinion between Tundra and Titan XD?

Sure. I've always liked smaller pickups but they're not in the same class as a superduty. The Nissan has always been the cheaper and more basic vehicle compared to Toyota. Also, if ya need a smaller pickup, there's always the F150. I know it has a nice soft ride as I have used them on occasion.

The reason I am not going with other 2 chevy/ram is there not any better rated for reliability and both are horrible in safety/crash rating. I had a 2013 F150 and it was at dealer multiple times but best at safety/crash rating. I am not totally thrilled with Tundra on crash rating but I am just looking for a truck that is more reliable and less time spent at dealer. When your carting your family in crew cab, safety/crash rating is at top of list especially with so many texting/distracted drivers today. I love Ford trucks it's just the 3 I had just haven't loved me back.

There is not a single vehicle manufacturer that doesn't have production defects, recalls, and other random mechanical failures under warranty requiring you to bring the vehicle into the dealer to be fixed. But since you think it's gonna magically fix your problem, best wishes.

There are no guarantees on any vehicle. All you can do is go with a brand that has a history of reliability/quality. If I am not going to stay with Ford the next best choice is Tundra. ALL my foreign vehicles Honda,Subaru, are incredibly low maintanence and no trips to dealers other than routine maintenance. I could roll the dice and hope number#4 Ford could be the no-issue truck but in the end I gave them 3 other chances and each has wasted enough of my time/money at dealerships. Alot of the angling community have Tundra's and all are happy with the reliability/quality and each was a past Big 3 owner. There is no American made vehicle that can compete with Honda/Subaru/Toyota for reliability and customer satisfaction this is why they always rank high on the consumer reports best of list year after year. Just the way things are in the vehicle world. Ford is still the best lookin truck on the road just wish I could be one of the happy customers w/no issues and 300k miles.
