Question 2012 f250 concerns if any??

I've been in the process of buying a new truck. I've been looking at a new 150 or 250 w 6.2l. I had made my choice and then ran across this used 250. Its 2012 f250 crew 4x4 lariat diesel 150,000 miles one owner. No chip or programmer or even exhaust has been put on this truck it's 100%stock. I've got a boat and a older bumper hitch camper. The current owner is a friend of mine the truck is just a daily driver. He services it unless it complex then he takes it to ford dealer. He asking $24,000. I've looked around a lot and that's almost $10k less than most. It's accessories are back up camera, trailer brake, fifth wheel, tool box.

Ok now here's the question I plan on keeping it for another 6-10 years only using it as a weekend truck. What mechicnal issues might I face and a cost????? This is my first diesel even though I've been around them a lot.

Default Being the realist.

Right off the bat you're gonna have to service the transmission since the book says 150k. Next you'll need to replace the fuel filters unless you know for certain it was done recently. Then you're gonna have to figure out if the oil in it is the right type of oil approved by Ford for the 6.7L diesel. If not then it's $20+ per gallon or so and takes 3+ gallons. Getting expensive yet? Well the DPF filter is likely gonna need replaced soon too since they are only estimated to last 150k-200k miles based on internet reports. Deleting will run you a couple grand but replacing it could be $4-8k.

If it was me, I'd go with the newer gasser or hunt for a better deal.

Just run the MC 5w40 diesel oil, you will be good to go, and its no more expensive than any others. Fuel filters done at dealer is 150 installed, the tranny service is about the same as a 150. At that mileage a delete is the only way to go, but dont bother until the filter wont clean through regen cycles.

I do own a 16 6.7 so I am speaking from experience. I change my fuel filters about every 10k to 15k.

If it’s a weekend truck, I’d probably stay away from a diesel. They don’t like to sit
