Default 07 f250 6.0?

Hey y'all,im thinking about buying an 07 f250 fx4 with the 6.0 but I've heard about bad stuff with those motors and I've heard good stuff,so if anyone has any input id really appreciate it,also what kid of maintenance needs to be done to diesels I've never owned one and wanna see if its worth it vs a f150

My father has a 03 fx4 f250 with 6.0 the only issues he has had was that the rubber hose blew off the turbo once truck still ran but with no power dealer repaired. Also had issues with it starting after being driven. When it was a cold start it would start fine but after being warmed up wouldn't start if shut off issue was with fuel system was pretty costly to repair I think around two grand

6.0s are hit or miss. Theyare bad about eating injectors, blowing headgaskets, and egr issues. Headstuds, egr delete and a good set of custom tunes make them much more reliable. The 06-07 where better than the earlier ones

i also heard that the reason the egr and oil coolers fail are because of casting sand from manufacturing the engine and some ppl are saying to add a coolant filter kit and egr delete and you should be good to go,and i also dont plan on doing any tuner to the truck just leaving it stock, well maybe a lift kit and tires but thats about it

definantly no tunes until headstuds. I know a few Ford mechanics and they tend to say not if a 6.0 blows a headgasket but when
