Yep... Its not. In the 90s they didnt want it to be like the "old west" anymore... Its stuck ever since then. You CAN however, open carry a long gun, just not a handgun. i know...

I'd love to return to the old west. The rate of violent crime was never lower.

There are no federal laws against flame throwers. Some states have laws but they're misdemeanors.

Even we can open carry here in CO, just not in the city and county of Denver. That only applies if you're there specifically, you can if traveling through.
