Yeah let's not talk about snow. Im in Michigan, its snows (normally...) and we see random and sporadic lake effect that goes from bright and sunny to blizzard in 5 min so you would expect people to be ready for it. hell no, 2 snowflakes in and half are doing 10 mph and the other half are trying to do 100 because "they know how to drive in snow." Funny thing is what makes up the most of what is in the median or smeared all over the back of another vehicle? 4x4's, why? because the driver ran out of ability and brains way before the vehicle ran out of traction. If stupidity had much stronger consequences the world would be so much better off.

All the roads I drive are 2 lane state highways, and I drive 7 over the posted, and get away with it whether the cop is on the side gunning with radar, driving towards me, gunning the radar, or following behind. 9 your fine, 10 your mine is the reality on these roads. There are the occasional fools who just HAVE to do 70 or more, I call them ticket bait, and they usually pass, but occasionally they will ride my tail for no reason other than to be stupid. Just pass if you want to go faster, and a good 80% I later see with the cherries behind them.

The ones that get me are those who tailgate in heavy fog or rain in the dark and drive on the damned center line. You want to go fast with poor visibility, go, pass I don't care, just get that damned light out of my mirror. In fog, I found that the brake lights are so bright it blinds the driver behind me, and I also found that with cruise on, the trailer brake will light the lights without disengaging the cruise. I have a rubber band that I use to lock the trailer brake when hitching up so I can check the brake lights when hitching up. Works wonders for that idiot tailgating in heavy fog as they back off to a safer distance and no longer in my mirror. No brake checking, no slowing down, just a warning that if I now have to brake suddenly, it will be without warning, so back off!

One other thing to be watchful of, deer. My travels are on country roads, corn fields, soybean fields, and deer can show up in an instant. Many a dead deer lay along the roads. One guy who just had to do 70 on these 55 MPH roads at the crack of dawn, when deer are the most prevalent, passed me, and within a half mile had a deer leap out. Needless to say he needed a new car after that, and the electric company needed a new pole. I had one tailgater behind me one night when a deer jumped out. I was able to slow down and avoid it, the guy behind went around and hit it, then proceeeded to continue heading towards the ditch on the other side.

The adventures of driving on country roads.

You see 80% of the idiot driver that want to do 70 pulled over? Wow, I wish our police here were so active. I never see one pulled over on my route into work. Seems like the ones that don't and make the 1 mistake are the ones that always get caught when I do see someone pulled over. Never see the ones that do it everyday get caught. Matter of fact, 99% of the time I never see a cop at all on my way in.

Green County patrols a lot, as well as State Patrol. They gun for the big rigs that like to go over 60, and some times catch those who do over 65. Most drivers on the roads I drive stay 64 or under because they know, it's those who rarely travel these roads that get nailed.

Yep here its 65 mph unless construction and some parts of the state are 70/75 depending on how far north
people here average 75 most do 80 in the hammer lane and up where its 70/75 they do 90

I went by a cop the other day after flashing my highbeams at some dope doing 70 in the hammer lane NOT passing anyone with me on his rear. He moved over when he saw the statey in the middle lane and I passed him and the car at the same time as I accelerated to 75.. (in a 55) Statey never budged I was wondering if he was thinking "hmm who do I ticket the speeder or the speeder who was impeding the passing lane."

Well...damnit

For some reason my dash cam is not saving correctly. I had an idiot in a Ram ride my ***, then blew past me when he could. Keep in mind I am 63 in a 55. Well sure as S***, guess what I come across 5 miles down the road. Yep said idiot in the Ram with Green County Explorer behind him, writing him a ticket.
