Hello all: I have a 1982 F-150 4x4 302 v8. I want to change out the badly cracked wind shield and i am not sure how to remove the molding around the wind shield with out possibably damaging it and i don't want to do that. Any help appreciated. Do i need a special tool?.

Thank you i watched the video. It didn't cover getting the glass out. I do understand the cconcept of the clips. Do i need a tool to remove the glass, break the seal?. I will attempt to remove some of the trim and see what it looks like and thank you again for the video.

If I were you I would replace the rubber orotund the window. To me it's going to be almost impossible to remove the window with damaging the rubber. And even if you do it's almost guaranteed to leak.

Thank you for that tip, didn't think of that one. The rubber a round the wind sheild shouldn't be to hard to find thanks.

I ordered the rubber for mine from bronco grave yard. Idk if they have stuff for your year module or not but I know you could get it from LMC and possibly NPD.

If you go this route then to get the old rubber off just use a razor blade to cut the rubber.

Thanks again i frequent the wrecking yards, good tip about the bronco. Many parts are interchangable like the wind shield and the rubber. This is one of my must do's before winter here.

I think you missed the point.
Bronco graveyard is a web site selling new parts for Bronco/F150.

I would not attempt to get parts like rubber seals and the lot from a wreaking yard. Likely to be as bad or worse than what you have.

or even:

Last time I had the windshield replaced on my truck, it was so cheap I wouldn't ever bother trying to do it myself.

Take it to a shop and have it done right.

Trust me, you might want to save money and there are some things you can cut corners on but this is not one of them. You're looking at $200-300, I doubt you could have a new windsheild bought and put it in yourself without spending that anyways.
