I went into military service in July 1964. That fall my dad bought a new 1965 F100. In 1996 I inherited the truck and had no idea what to do with it. It sit for about 2 years before I finally decided to restore it with a few up graded features. http://s68.photobucket.com/user/cuta...?sort=3&page=1
The behind the seat fuel tank was removed. An Aluminum 41 gallon fuel tank/tool box combination was installed in the bed. The original 240-6 cylinder engine was replaced with a professionally rebuilt 351W 4V HO along with an AOD transmission. The original grill was replaced by one from a 1966 F100.

I love the 70s era Ford trucks, but mostly the 77's. I'm actually on the lookout to pick one up. The prices on these things are ridiculous. They are more reasonable on craigslist but sites like autotraderclassics.com they are seriously inflated.
I've seen identical trucks in identical condition with a $5-6k price gap. Then I've seen two trucks, both with good bodies and one has a running engine and one has an empty engine bay- but they are the same price.
I guess I need to do some back road driving around here and see what I can find.

As far as classics go, this isn't quite the site for them. In the 70's there were F100s, F250s, F350s etc. There were also F150s in the late 70s once emissions standards became a concern, but our sites name is kind of exclusive to some. I enjoy looking here and became a member when I owned a 92, but now that I own a 79 F250, I come here but get most of my info / truck **** from Ford Truck Enthusiasts. Check 'em out.
