Your truck looks great! I have always loved the 78/79 body style. Take care of her!!

I might be mistaken but i once heard that a camper special had some beefed up suspension components... not sure though

I'm pretty sure the camper special has the rear axle located in a different spot to better distribute the weight of a camper, which also means the bed is different.

It is a nice Classic 1978 F-150 Ranger Lariat.

The 1974 F-Series Super Camper Special was a extended wheelbase 1 ton or F350, not a 3/4 or 1/2 ton.

You can tell by the rear wheel-well location, it is further back than a regular 1 ton.

i hate it!!! (i mean the fact that you have it, and i dont)

oh and it is a contractors special, not a camper special.a camper special, was only availiable on 3/4 and 1 ton trucks ( maybe just 1 tons as stated above, but i think ive seen f250 camper specials) and the spare tire was located behind the bedside where your toolbox is. i found a contractors special bed on craigslist and almost bought it even though i dont own a dentside. they are pretty rare IIRC.
