Default 1986 F-150- won't start after long cold winter

First Time Poster/ Second Post (as the first one was in the Introduction Forum). I've got an 1986 Ford F-150 4wd automatic with the 5 litre fuel injected motor. The truck has been in my family since new and has less than 80K miles, first owned by my deceased brother in law, then my deceased father, and now me. Unfortunately the truck hasn't been driven much in the last couple of years, and has now developed a non starting problem possibly from not being started over the winter. The truck wants to start (fires!) when gas or ether is introduced to the intake plenum, I have gas at the fuel rail (45+ pounds pressure) , but it doesn't seem to be getting into the intake. I need to determine if the injectors are getting voltage or could they possibly be clogged/glazed because of non use. If the injectors are carmelized, is there a way to clean them with out removing the fuel rail? Maybe flushing with Berrymans B-12 ?Thanks in advance for your help. Paul

There used to be a cleaner in a pressurised can that you screwed onto the rail. Disconnect the fuel pump fuse and run the truck off the can til empty. Been a long while since i saw it but a good parts person may be a better guide to it.

Default That exactly what I need.....

but where to find it?? I had also thought about disconnecting the fuel pump inlet side and hooking a small piece of hose to it. Then I could suck out of a bottle of Berrymans B-12 to get the solvent up to the rail.Do you think that the B-12 would cause harm to the pump ?, I don't want to create more work if I can help it. Thanks, Paul

I doubt it would hurt the pump. Its really just a viscous pump not just strictly a gas pump.
