New radio for an old truck

My 1977 came with a AM radio and one paper speaker in the dash. 35 years ago a not so good Kraco cassette player was installed and pair of Craig speakers were put in the doors. It was near worthless.... I did not want to alter my factory dash. I ordered a new FM radio with an auxiliary jack from Custom Auto Sound. I put a set of Polk Audio speakers in the doors. Fortunately, the doors came from the factory with grills in the door panels so no butchering was required....The radio looks very stock when it is turned off. When it is on, it is actually a digital display.....If you are in need, check out Custom Auto Sound.

Putting and new cd play doesn't look that bad. I did in my 79.

To be honest, I didn't think CD players were released for sale until 1982.

It was a compliment-as in it looked factory, no harm.

Oh thanks. I think I misread that the first time, and took it the wrong way sorry to be short. Anyhow the simpler the unit the better in my opinion.

I have an 1984 F150 with similar old radio set up. I have most of the dash apart but can’t get to the back of the old radio to disconnect

How do I go old radio out???

FYI-I must pre date the ford radio removal tool. There is no clips on the side of the radio. It seems attached in the back. Maybe, wiring?

Are you releasing tabs on the side

I am...no restriction on the sides. All the resistance comes from the back of the radio.
