NEED HELP! Truck is dead
So as the title says my truck is dead it will not start. Sometimes it will fire a little bit and idle but its not running on all 8 it will cut right off right away if i even touch the gas pedal.
Let me give you guys a little background on the truck its a 86 302 efi. I removed the rear gas tank. Recently the truck died on my and I had a shop put a fuel pump in it. This was less than 2 weeks ago. I do not know the brand of pump or anything other than that is what they did.
Anyway down to the latest issue, I was driving home from school about a 170 mile drive and for the first 80 miles the truck was running great no problems at all. Then all of a sudden im driving along and BAM no power the truck just bogs out, no matter what i do step on the gas or anything nothing. It starts backfiring and everything. Then it just randomly clears up. And the truck starts driving again but this time it hesitates and it feels like its lacking power, its like i step on the gas and it just bogs out and it reeks of fuel.
So here are a list of things that i have replaced on the truck. I just replaced the TPS and MAP sensors, and FPR. I have felt the hp pump and in tank pump and both seem to be working. I do have spark, rotor and cap were recently replaced. EGR and IAC sensors were replaced recently as well.
So what do you guys think any leads? Im suspecting a shotty in tank pump but im not sure.

Check the fuel filter inside the tank switching valve reservoir thing. If plugged you will not get fuel from either tank. In my case the engine would idle and drive OK at low speeds, but would buck and cut out at speeds over about 50 mph.
Looks like this:

The bottom part unscrews from the top.
Note this is not the main fuel filter. There is another filter near the high pressure fuel pump.

I would get a code reader and pull the codes.

I grounded pin a and the pump is working. The tank switching valve is bad. I can get fuel psi to there but not after. Do you have a link to the part online?
