in some aspects yours is worse then mine, but i have a lil more body rust, i vote restore it. jonah is right, to many of these trucks are ruined as mud trucks.

this is my project, im just guna be buying non restorable doner trucks or using LMC, junkyards, friends shop since he scraps vehicles all the time.

so does my bed lol. i have more body rust, which i wish it didn't have. but it sounds like you got some engine problems. mine just needs the carb adjusted so it starts a little easier. the exhaust consists of headers and about 2ft of 2" exhaust pipe lol, loud as sin.

EDIT, what year is it by the way? there is a 79 highboy down the road from me that has the 390, only difference from yours is its a short bed and black. its been sitting in the field for 9 years and iv been tempted to go ask what he wants for it. i just cant stand to watch these trucks die in a field lol.

It just doesn't idle on its on. Gotta feather the throttle just right. I'm pretty sure after we go through everything it'll be alright.

My dad keeps telling me im not gonna restore it. To much money.

He's always been a great help. I'm about to walk the F outta here. Starting to **** me off.

welcome to my old world lol, i walked out a year ago because of my dad. hes against any mods to a vehicle, keep it stock, dont maintain it, sell it before it brakes so you dont have to pay for it. sounds like a great person huh? lol

I'd KILL for that truck. Don't you dare mud that thing! Restore it to its former glory... maybe even go COMPLETELY stock. Now that'd be a rare find, for sure.

My dad was a mechanic for 20 years. But I'm tired of the crap.

Anyway. Mine is a 76. That one in the field has to be pre 77.5 to be a true highboy. It might have an aftermarket lift on it. Quick way to tell, divorced transfer case. The frog driveshaft should be longer than the rear
