Here I share the before and after pictures of my truck. From when I brought her home until the final touch of paint. I can only share a few pictures to I am limited to what I can show you because believe me, there is so much more I did that I am very proud of.
So after many many months of sitting, we finally got the old girl out and about. Took the hideous canopy off, cleaned the bed of junk, and now she's sitting pretty.
Anyone else noticed that driving these trucks just feels so much better than driving any newer car? There's nothing to even think about when you're driving. You just get in and go. It's awesome.
Your truck is a beauty, What year model is she? And yes, I love my old classic. It amazes me how many people approach you and ask if you are selling. Crazy people, they say "I love your truck" and I respond, "I love my truck too, she is not for sale".
Replacement of the window track was a fun experience. I struggled until I realized I did not remove all the old stuff. As soon as I fixed my error, the window track went in like a breeze. And now...I can hear the radio in the cab while driving at full speed. Awesome!
Replaced the window track. I recommend it to anyone with bad track. Its simple and cost effective.
New window track and seals...now the windows are sealed tight and the truck looks even more amazing.

YES! I did this recently with the 85 Dually. It sounds SOOOO much better. Before, the windows would clank against the metal, it was hard to keep on the track, and the wind noise was deafening. Afterwards, the doors sound solid when closing them, the wind noise is gone, and I can actually hear the CB radio again!
When I did my repair, I tossed the old, deteriorated tar paper they had used as a door lining and replaced it with some heavy-gauge plastic that I cut and glued to the door with silicone. Also had to replace all the plastic door clips holding the door panel on ($5 at box store).
