yeah my grandfather had a 1977 or 1978 brand new but she died really young, he was a commercial fisherman, she worked HARD....they had to put a wooden box on her before the rest wore out. she was red, supercab, long box. I don't remember her since i was born long after she went....only know what i've been told.
I love 6th gens, would not mind owning one and may well do so in the future (maybe far, maybe near)

your 77, 78, and 79.....i gotta ask, what are their engines and transmissions? are they 2wd or 4wd?

The 77 is short box 2wd I-6, 3 on the tree, but going to be 4 on the floor. 78 long box 4x4 350 I think and standard. The 79 extended cab long box camper special with 460 4x4 standard.

I'm very sorry for your loss. That's awesome that you and your grandfather still drive it, we still have my grandfather's '96 sticking around that we'll be fixing up when the time comes. I don't care how much it'll take to get it back to it's former glory just because my grandfather bought it new in '96. Sixteen Massachusetts winters has done some damage, but it could be worse... that'll be a project after college.

Noticed the MA plate there... it sucks with the winter/salted roads here because I don't get to see all of these older trucks. Hoping to change that when I get a '70 in a few weeks Then I'll have at least 1 old truck to look at up here in MA even if it is just mine lol.
