Hey guys, I"m looking to buy my first truck and need some help getting an idea of what a reasonable price for this truck is. Anyone got any price ranges for this based on the info below?

Just as a reference, I have a 1985 F-150, exactly like that one, even down to the exterior and interior color. 302EFI, 4WD, 4spd (NP435), regular cab, short bed not long bed, and I paid $4,200 for it. It had a recent paint job, and ZERO rust with just barely over 100k when I bought it. It was in rough shape though, like super dirty and I had to compound, polish, and wax the paint several many times. The interior was in decent shape. I had to put a new seat cover on and dash pad, which is pretty normal for a truck that old. Also the A/C didn't work and had to replace the condenser, dryer, orifice tube, and compressor. But luckily I had a compressor at the house which had been on another 302 that was only about a year old. All that said, any 86 and earlier truck that has zero rust in that kind of shape will be VERY hard to find again, especially with that kind of low original miles. Plus that looks to be a Lariat with the wood grain interior and cruise, that's nice!

I would offer around $4500, all the seller can say is no, and you can go from there. Just depends on how bad you want it!

Thanks for the input, yeah it seems tricky to find a good reference for others in similar years/etc to see what they went for. Thanks for info about your 94, helps to have that in mind. Are the 86-80 models worth more than the generation after that included the 87-91 or 92-97? Because I've seen those go for similar to what you paid for your 94 and cheaper as well. So logically I would think the 80-86 would be cheaper but maybe not?

Thanks a ton for the info about your 85 F-150. That's the exact kind of reference I was hoping to find to gauge how much this would be worth. Yeah, I'm really tempted to try and make a deal on this since it fits exactly what I want. 4WD, Manual, Long Bed, Dual gas tank, 302 EFI, and I like the color too. Interior could maybe be improved but thats minor to me and I haven't seen it in person yet. The only thing was that the price was a bit higher than some other similar ish F-150's (~$3500-4000 I've seen here in SoCal) I've seen but they dont fit the bill entirely like this one does.

Thanks man, I'll be heading up to see it in a few days and will see how it goes. Yeah, ~$4500 seems pretty fair. You got any before/after or other pics of your 85 F-150 truck? Would love to see em.

It does seem that these older model pickups are kinda becoming a little more valuable than in past years. Mainly due to age, but also other things like still having glass headlights, carbs, and older 3/4 speed transmissions compared to an 87 and up. But I would agree, kinda hard to pass up, if you got the cash and that’s exactly what ya been looking for. Even with my truck being a 4spd (no overdrive) and 4wd, I’m averaging 16-17 mpgs on the highway as long as I am doing 65 or less. Not bad! This is silly, but I don’t think I have a single pic of my 85 before I started work on it! But I do have some pics as of today. I’ll see what I can do about getting them on here.

Just added a set of some Ion Alloy wheels (last pic). I liked the stockers, but they rubbed quite a bit with my 32s I have on there. With just a little more offset, the new wheels push the tire out more and don’t rub the radius arms anymore.

Yeah that makes sense about its value. Thanks man. And hoooly crap your truck looks awesome. Was it the compound/polish/wax what makes it look and shine in the light? whatever you did it looks freakin dope. I want to do what you did to that exterior haha

also where did you get that seat cover? LMC? thanks for taking the time to put the pics up
