Hopefully not another death from rust.
Hey y'all. New member. Been using this forum for research for awhile but decided to get registered. And considering my situation it's about time. I have a 1980 f150 xlt 4x4 ttb with a 351m that I got myself a year ago for a project truck. Done a lot of work on the engine, built a wooden flat bed. It's kinda my off road/rat rod truck. I love this thing. Few weeks ago I guess I pushed the original rusty suspension a bit to far and it ripped out a big chunk of its rusty self.. Broke my heart. Anyways, I'm asking if yall think the frame and suspension is worth patching and repairing, or if I might as well find my self a roller chassis.

What does the other shock tower look like? Is it as bad? Is this the only place that is this bad?

Shock towers rust out - it's a bad spot, so not surprised to see the frame rust there. If the rest of the frame is solid, patch that spot.
If the rest of the frame is as rusty as that you need a frame ... or a truck. |
ya, you can order replacement towers, pretty easy fix

Grind off the rivets, punch them out and install new towers with grade 8 bolts |
