1986 Ford F-150 tilt column shifter
Hey everyone, I have a 1986 Ford F-150 Lariat that the column shifter broke where it is hinged at on the column itself. Can I mount a cable mounted floor shifter instead of replacing the column? Will this afffect the ignition lock? This is a farm truck and I have had it 17 years. I can't find a salvage yard steering column that I am comfortable with. Thanks in advance.

I got a full rebuilt (core exchange) column from here: http://www.columnsgalore.com/index.htm
Not cheep..... however they do sell some parts.
What transmission?
There are lots of options for AOD.
Google [AOD floor shift]
(or whatever transmission you have)

It is the automatic overdrive. I'm going to have to look for a rebuilt column I guess. The link you provided looks promising. I'll talk to them tomorrow. Thanks for your input.
