Default Help!!!

Just a quick question or two about the F-150. What does the F stand for? I'm assuming 'Ford,' but I'm not sure.

What do the numbers signify? Like the 150, 250, 350, etc? I know the trucks go up in size, but do the numbers themselves mean something or are they just random?

What makes the F-150 stand out from all their other trucks? As soon as they came up with the model, it seemed to just take off and become a phenomenom all its own.

And lastly, is there somewhere I can go to see an overview of the advertising history of the F-150? To see how Ford has changed its message and why about this truck over the decades?

Thanks,
Pat

Well, I can help you with what I know...

The 150 is a half ton, 250 is three quarter ton, and 350 is full ton.

The F150 stands out just because of its reliability and dependibility. The 1980-86 era put out some of the best workhorses that still run today. They are just "Built Tough" like the commercial says.

And something my dad tought me was "If your just gonna drive around, buy a chevy, if your gonna work out of it, buy a ford." And most Ford men I talk to agree.
