Default Help with 1986 Ford F350 10ft Box Truck Tanks

I need help on a 1986 Ford F350 Box truck Tank. Truck has dual tanks but both tanks register empty even when I switch over. Is it a bad float or switch or is there something else I should be looking for? Also if I do have to replace a float or any other part what do i look for if its a 10 ft box truck not a regular F350 pick up truck?

Default Dual fuel tanks not showing fill level

Check the switch for the front/back tank, it is likely the issue, could be in the wiring to the tanks or your fuel guage in the cluster is bad.

Default

If I recall correctly...80's dual tank switches had a jumper wire to feed the gauge.

Default Ground check

One of the most common issues on these older trucks is grounds, check the ground wire from the sender, often right where they connect to the truck frame things need some tlc to get them working. I find grinding the frame clean with a flap wheel in the area, new terminal, new bolt and put a light coating of wheel grease on it all and they tend to stay clean and working for a long time.
