Default Fuel Tank Selector Valve

Hello everyone. I'm in need of some help and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for online anywhere. I have a 1985 F150 EFI with dual tanks. My valve started leaking and needed replaced. This item is no longer made so I found a used one on ebay. It's a 6 port valve that matched my hoses exactly. The problem is that the connector has wires that are all different colors than the one I removed. It looks like a OEM valve, but must be of a different year vehicle than mine. I knew my connector was in bad condition and this one came with a new connector. My original connector has Y/LG, Y, DB/Y, Red and Brown. The replacement I bought has Or, Green, Green/Red, Brown/Or and Red/Y. Anyone know how I should match these wires up?

This is the original connector.

This is the replacement unit.

Did the Replacement come with a wiring diagram ?

What is the make and part number for the Replacement?

It did not come with a wiring diagram because it was a used part. They sell for about $300 on ebay in NOS. But I found this really good condition used one for $75 and it came with a connector. It doesn't have a part number listed on the part, but did say "FORD" on the side. So I don't believe it's an aftermarket replacement unit. Also the fuel connectors all were just like the factory unit, not made for rubber fuel lines. I have found the diagram of my factory connector, but I can't find a diagram showing the colors of the valve that I bought. The diagram above doesn't have the same color wires either. If anyone knows what year of truck might use these colors, please let me know.

I checked the truck wiring up to 89, and no change in color coding to the valve.

does not look like the electric valve was used after 89', 90 & 91 drawings do not show an electric valve for Gas, and the Diesel valve in 90 has the same color codes as the gas valve.

If it is a ford part, there should have been a number on it somewhere.

Not sure what you mean here ??

There is a slight difference between the 85' & 86' wiring, but just a change from hash marks to stripes. Y/LB H Hash to Y/LB Stripe

The EFI in 85' was a mid year option, in 86' it was the standard motor.

The 84' has an Orange wire as the first wire, BR/W as the #2 wire. No green wires. I'll check some earlier years.

83' same as 84'

Maybe this was used on other versions of the ford tucks, campers or buses...

If you are handy with a meter, you could possibly figure this out.

Your Red & Brown are candidates for motor direction - one polarity it selects rear, swap the polarity and it selects the front.

The other 3 wires are gage selection.

Your new 4th wire, Green, is most likely the common Gage wire (old -Y/W)

You can prove this by measuring continuity on the other 2 wires in respect to the 4th wire, while applying power to the Red & Brown one polarity, then the other.

2 of these 3 wires should be connected now internally and the continuity can be checked.

I was wrong. The original valve did not have a number on it. This replacement unit does say Ford, but also has a number on it. I have googled it and it gets zero hits. The number says, "E7TB-9F271-AA". Does this mean anything to anyone?
Thanks,
Charles
