Fuel pump replacement question
Hey guys, new to the forums and was hoping someone could help me out with a question.
I have a 78 F150 with a 429cj under the hood that needs a fuel pump replacement. I purchased a Holley 12-460-13 mechanical fuel pump for it, but after looking under the truck again after receiving the part realized that my power steering pump seems awfully close to it.
Still working on improving my mechanical skills, so question is this: Do I need to remove my power steering pump to replace the fuel pump?
Some pics of the underneath and whatnot if it helps with what I'm looking at:

Any help greatly appreciated.

I bet you will have to take it off but its only like 4 nuts a whole 5 minutes lol i would take it off just for extra room to work with. but good luck if ya run into any problems let us know, should be quick and easy
Was a tight fit and took me longer than I'd like to admit, but didn't need to remove the PS pump.
On the downside the engine is still not turning over. It's acting like it wants to, but just doesn't have the power to fire up if that makes sense. I've had the battery tested and have gas in the tanks.
Is it possible that something else has an issue that could've forced my pump to blow/go bad? Prior to the pump going bad, I had an issue where the truck would stall out at low rpms even when driving. It would take a few minutes for it to turn over, kicked out black smoke out of the exhaust, and would continue to run only if at higher rpms. Pump went when I was attempting to turn it over the next day after it was stalling.
Thanks again,
Carter

Only if I try to let it start for too long. Normally it will attempt to start just like normal, but something's not taking. Not sure if related to the pump failing, but it looks like I have some gas on the oil dipstick. Going to be draining/replacing this afternoon, along with spark plugs.
Kicker about this is I have around 400 miles on it since having the engine rebuilt.

What color is the grommet on the ignition module? It should be mounted on the driver side fender well, if it's blue or brown it's a good chance it's bad, we used to change them all the time. The grommet is the part of the box where the wires come out of it, they color coded them.
