Door and Fender Swaps
I have a truck that needs new doors and fenders before paint. I found some really nice 1990 ones but they are styled different and are power. I want to make them work but before I drive hours to get them and bring them home I was hoping to get some advice. I am not a mechanic and I am learning as I go to restore her to her former glory.
My question is can I just blot on the 90's style doors? Is it in my skill level?

IMHO, don't waste money buying something that you don't want and try to make it work. Find something that is what you want and then use that. Wallet, brain, and body will thank you later.

Go to a wrecking yard and compare the two. Wiring shouldn't be an issue. Not to hard if you have a manual with diagrams. For that matter you could yank the color coded wiring you need out of another truck I would worry more about the body lines and hinges. I've never done the swap, but I would think the doors would work. The fenders are goind to be different and you will also have to swap the grill and possibly the hood. I would stay away from that.

Come to think of it the doors might be more hassle than it's worth too. Aside from checking the body lines and hinges, I know the door panels are different. They probably won't line up with the dash. I wouldn't mess with the swap unless you had an entire parts truck and you don't mind swapping the dash, wiring harness, door panels, hood, grill fenders, etc... Sounds like more trouble than it's worth. I would stay patient and buy an entire donor truck with a blown motor or something. I've got into these kind of projects, and when you have a bucket, it's best to buy parts truck rather than piece for piece. If your truck doesn't need much, then a few pieces here and there is fine. Food for thought.
