Default Is this a crazy idea ?

Hello, so Everyone I talk to says I might have cracked my block for attempting my latest project. I got an 86 f150 4x2 short bed, and a old beat up f150 86 4x4 long bed. My plan is to turn the 2w short bed in to a 4x4 from the parts on my long bed. I am also thinking about taking a 5.0l v8 out of a 1990 mustang and swapping out the stock v8 in the shortbed truck. (better injection system). Of coarse add add a lift and some other suspension upgrades (coil over airbags). Has anyone else done a conversion like this ?

I say go for it, but if you are going through the trouble of making a 2wd a 4wd, go with a straight front axle not the TIB. You can get a Dana 44 straight axle that should bolt right in to your radius arms. Good luck. I used to work in a 4x4 shop we did stuff like that for fun.
