Angry couple of problems

hello im new here and have a couple of questions. i have an 86 f150,300 I6 carborated, my problems started when the distribitor gear pin sheared, ive tried to time it many times but still doesnt seem right. i read that the spout had to be disconnected to time it properly, i just cant seem to find it. what does it look like on these models, i cant find a good pic of one on the internet. second problem, i have a knocking sound only on acceleration, when its ideling or if i rev it it dont happen.3rd problem. i can hear a sucking sound when sitting in the cab, when i step on the brake it stops. if anybody can help with just one of these problems it would help me alot, i can usually fix whats wrong if i know what the problem is. thank you in advance.

Default issue 1 2 3

1 if the pic sheared you need to find out why... if it's like the v8's and the dist is hooked to the oil pump, and you have a locked up pump then it'll shear the pin again.
The first part of timing you need to find TDC #1 piston. put your finger over the spark plug hole of the #1 cyl and turn it over by hand untill the pressure pushes past you finger. Make sure that you are TDC on the ballancer as well. After that, fint the 1 on the dist cap, that is where the #1 wire should be. Mark the spot where #1 is on the cap and put a tiny mark on the dist so that as you drop the dist in and the gear lines up it'll move, adjust it so that when dropped in all the way, it points to the mark of #1 plug wire. If you are carbed as you say, then you will have NO spout, that is only for the computer. Once you have it all together and the truck is running you need to stop and fix you last problem, then fine tune the timing.
The last issue is the brake power booster. you need to replace it! point blank! You can take the master cyl off and leave the line hooked up, MAKE SURE YOU GET THE ADJUSTMENT OFF YOU OLD ONE AS IT WILL EFFECT THE BRAKES if it set too low, then the brakes will have to be pressed down more before the brakes start to work... if it's set too high, then the pin will push on the plunger for the master cyl and the brakes will be on all the time and you will smoke the front brakes FAST. After that is done and the vac is where it's supposed to be, then the timing can be set correctly.

As far as the knock, it might be a cam knock, and hopefully is isn't a issue of no oil and worse problems.

Default problems

ifound out yesterday that it was my brake booster, so that ones easy, and that explanes alot about the spout, and why i couldnt find it. but then what is the box behind the lower part of the dash? i have ignition module on the distributor isnt that the computer controlled ignition system. i dont have much experience with it. with the timing then i can advance/retard the timing without unhooking anything. the gear pin sheard about a year ago i have decent oil pressure, i assumed it was old, and it was a hollow pin by the way. forgot to mention that the first time. thank you for your help i really apreiciate it, oh what is cam knock?

I had a knock in my engine and thought it was from a collapsed lifter. After doing a rebuild, it turned out that my cam bearings were shot and 2 of my pistons were badly damaged, and the cam bearings are where my knocking was coming from.
