Coulomn shifter to floor shifter swap with same transmission on a 1969 f100???
Hello,Im 18 and have a 1969 ford f100 that I'm building into my interpretation of a rat rod,I was wondering if it's possible to change the prnd12 shifter from the steering column to the floor, with the same transmission the truck has now,and advice would be very much apricaited because me and my dad are scratching are heads, and kinda lost. I want to get a t handle shifter from auto zone, but this trucks old and the transsmision is old,so I'm hopeing that will make it a little less complicated then when we try it on his 1991 pickup.

Good morning and welcome to the fun. I would think your best option is to visit junk yards. Stay away from current stores, they want your money not give you results. I presently have a column shift with C6 trans in my 73 F250, I did have a 68 Mustang C4 floor shifter, get every thing from the junk yard including the linkage. Thats where your trouble will be, the linkage, I would even get the links on the tranny that the shift rods connect to.
