Default converting a 2wd into 4wd

ya , I know it sounds like a pain in the *** but my body and frame have almost no rust on it ,and i can't find an older 4x4 under 4,000 that looks as good as my truck inside and out.

Yep - it would be a chore. Suggest to investigate a limited-slip or selectable locker for the rear with some appropriate rubber all the way around. Should be able to take you about everywhere you need to go.

2WD can be lifted to give the appearance of 4WD, if that's what you're after.

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't even try it, you'll end up spending more in the conversion than actually buying a truck from the same year. Just keep looking for a 4X4, in colorado, some places will let you trade your old truck right across for one.

And if you do decide to convert it, don't expect to have a tight wallet...

I would suggest to keep looking for a 4x4 rather than trying to convert the front end to 4x4. All the parts you will need for the conversion will end up costing quite a bit and then the cost of the installation, assuming you are not doing that yourself.

Unless you are in a hurry? Then do whatever gets you there.

Do you have the adapterfor the transfer case yet? we got that C6 out tonite... i have no clue as to what is wrong with it, but we have parts that we need to sell off to try and recover a portion of the costs for the manual the adapter we have is for a C6 to a NP205 transfer case we also will have all of the linkage pieces for the shifter minus the collum

I'm doing the conversion on my '92 when the weather breaks, or when I get the time and I think it's well worth the time and effort. I picked up a donor '93 drivetrain for less than $500 and I plan on doing a picture "how to" to add to the tech section while completing this in the event that someone else may want to try it as well.
