The test for whether or not you need to bleed is to pump the pedal. If it pumps up you need to bleed. If it stops at the same spot every pump then there's no air to bleed out.

Yes actually I almost forgot so replaced both front calipers and everything works I can get it to stop but I just need to re bleed everything and then should be good to go thanks for all your help

did you check for rusted out brake lines to find leaks?

There were no leaks in the lines they were rather clean surprisingly. The whole problem was a seized caliper on the drivers side

Just my thoughts reading all the questions & answers.....when you bench bleed the master cylinder did you bleed the front (larger part of resevoir first)....
there is a proper sequence.........maybe someone can chime in as to proper sequence it's been a while for me.
I believe I am right & if you didn't the the M/C will not operate correctly ....
also I also believe the ratio is more like 70/30 (front & rear brake pressure).....
the stuck sticking front caliper is also a problem that needs to be addressed.....
