that's how mine is. One of the calipers was seized could it be that the other one is bad it feels like the brake is holding the rotor it's really stiff to turn

Your lines are not plugged if you bled fluid out ,check vacuum at booster if all's good you have air in lines did you do wheel cylinders and calipers if not there sticking and need new

If you're seeing a lot of fluid move from the rear brake reservoir it might just be that you need to tighten up the shoes on the back. There's a start-shaped wheel that you spin to do that. Usually you can do it with the drums on, there should be a hole you can stick a screwdriver through. But it's easier with them off if you don't know how it works.

The master cylinder is designed to have both front and back brakes adjusted correctly. If one of the front or back is loose the piston runs out of travel in the MC bore.

Somebody just had a similar problem with the pedal dropping too far and that was the problem. The rear brake shoes were out of adjustment, too loose.

The rear shoes might be in to far, but if hes standing on them and bearly getting slowing the back breaks arnt the issuse i dont believe. Besides that he said he could roll the truck in neutral. If they were out hed have a hard time rolling. Ive drove plenty of trucks with only front breaks. Pinched the rusted rear line off and went on about drive with good front breaks. So they can be all screwed up and he should still be able to slow down with just the fronts
The rubber lines on the front calipers is what im wondering about. If the are twisted the extra pressuse could bulge the line kink it and not allow the pressure to reach the calipers, but when with the truck and no extra pressure it might allow enough to squek thru and hold the truck.

Id say then. And its just my opinion.! That the rear drums are all out of whack. The fronts have been doing all the work and are just worn out. They are just little bugers. Id say replace pads and calipers both sides. And if the rotors are warped ir grooved might as well replace them too. Id bet thatll get you slowing down.. then you can tear the back drums apart and get them in adjustment.

You should never see a "lot" of fluid leaving the reservoir and returning. I'll just leave that simple statement. If you see 1/4 reservoir leaving and returning, you either have air in the system or the shoes are out of adjustment. Both front and rear brakes are self-adjusting, but the rears only move a small amount at time.

Who knows, he might have several problems stacked up.

Well do you need to drive this truck right now?. If you dont then you can probably get the rears in tolerance with some fine tuning as long the break cylinders are working correctly. And the rear shoes have material left on them. But you should bleed system over again.

No I don't have ti drive it immediately I have other vehicles. I'm just trying to get it ready for next week due to moving. The shoes are brand new so basically I need to try to adjust them, and then go and bleed then all again and it should be good to go?
