backfire popping idle

hey every1, I have a 84 f150 with a 302. I recently blew out a freeze plug and had the opportunity to rebuild the whole motor. It has a edelbrock perfromer rpm manifold and a holley4160 on top. I got her running and idling but it has a slight backfire/pop and it idles kinda of high. 1000-1200. what could cause this? i am going to try and turn the adjusment screws in a bit and then try and set a base timing, is there "SPOUT" that i have to disc to do the timing? any helps thanks.

Sounds to me like your timing is to advanced. A vacuum leak might do it. But to me sounds like the timing is off.

i ithnk i figured it out. it was a few issues, throttle cable was pulling the throttle open, needed to adjust that. A vac cap popped off, and timing was off becuase of the high idle. Thanks!!
