All that weight would make it land nice.

did ford have sas on coils in the 80's? I only ask cause I was already looking to get 1 ton front coils and if I can make the bucket on the Dana 44 it'd be as simple as drilling holes for longer radius arms and all that and springing the axle to the coil. and if I'm lucky enough to find a 70s model D44/9 inch I'd be set to go and the only way to be luckier then that would be if they already had posi...it'd be like gettin struck by lightning 3 times

I thought they was all leafs from the 250 and up. But I know a guy I work for has a 90s model ford 250 with coils. So maybe they do.

Lmc threw me for a loop cause it showed both for my gen. If I could get everything set up for it I'd do a 6 inch lift block on the back with a 9 inch rear axle and a set of 6 inch lift f350 coils with the Dana 44 on the front and I'd save for an e-locker for the front dif and just a regular eaton locker for the rear

You could save a lot by makin your own blocks. I'm Puttin a 4" lift on my truck and im going to the local trade school and making my own. I was in the machining class so the teacher is just gonna let me do it. And as your differentials lockers are good but I like the LSD better. For the rear. I've heard two different things for the front but the rear I'm going LSD. It's locked in all the time it just let's one axle "slip" so it doesn't bind up. I've always been Leary of lockers especially air. My luck the compressor would go out then I'm screwed. Just my two cents on the subject.

If I could find a LSD 9 inch I'd keep it that way maybe get chromoly shafts for it. If I looked at it right the e-locker is a magnetic locking setup that's switch activated and i think that'd be simpler to hit a switch on my dash to lock it in when I need it it's just expensive as all get out but looks like it'd be worth the money.

And I already got the body lift so the blocks would be for me to keep my f350 hd leafs and i want to keep coils just cause I feel it'd be a simpler swap to sas and they'd be f350 lift coils so I could do the 351 swap and put my cast iron t18 in it. It'd be perfect in my eyes

Exactly. I didnt restore my truck.... I built it for a purpose and that purpose is to take my use cause if it can take my use it can handle any abuse. Most guys my age build their trucks to look showroom quality with built motors but the baby their trucks....I drive a ford it clocks in when I turn the key and I expect it to work just as hard as I do.....also why I went with the older styles too... You can't beat old metal
