Default 86 302 efi dies when shifted to drive or reverse

I have an 86 302 efi that i just did a top end rebuild on.. After reassembly i am now having a problem that when i shift into gear it will either bog way down then pick back up right away or (and usually once warmed up) bog down and stall out...
Any ideas?

I did an egr delete, i also cleaned out my iac... I was kind of thinking it may be my torque converter. It will also go very high rpms then slam into the next gear when driving.

I honest don't know if your transmission has one or not, but check the vacuum line goung to the governor. If you are driving the TC is working as advertised. It is nothing more than a fluid coupling between the transmission and engine tranfering the power. Other things can go wrong with them, but does not sound like it for you.

I assume you have AOD if so make sure the TV cable is adjusted properly. If not you will blow the transmission in a few miles.
Google AOD and TV (throttle valve)
