Lol, I ment that I have a ladder to reach the engine. The dipstick sleeve is missing. It's just a hole there. I'm going today to see if I can pick one up.

L&R (and all other directions) on vehicles always refer to the operator's perspective, from the driving position.
Thanks! Your pic helped me to find where it should be. The dipstick sleeve is missing. It's just a hole there. I'm going today to see if I can pick one up.

I've used generic aftermarket dipsticks a couple of times when I had no other choice, but I'm not a fan of them. There are several styles of factory 300ci/4.9L dipsticks that you can find in JYs, but make sure the dipstick you get MATCHES the tube you get. There are some PNs & pics in this caption:
