Default Crumpled dent repair

Alright, now that my truck is back up and running, I'd like to begin thinking about the body repair it needs.

There's a fairly large crumpled dent in the drivers side quarter panel, right about smack in the middle of the bed. The truck is a '79 150.

If you want a visual, it would most closely resemble this:

The bed is welded on, correct? I believe it is. How would I repair this? If the panel would just come right off I'd hammer it out but since I can't would I need a slide hammer? There's only a few inches of space behind there.

If I wanted to just replace the panel, how would one get the panel off?

Thanks.

Ir u want to replace it there is a seem in the bed that runs just down beside the wheel tub from the front to the back then there is some on the front at the head board part of the bed its some work involved but this is the wat to make it look stock n u won't have any bondo in ur truck but if u have the time and a drill n get u a spot weld cutter (looks like a drill bit) u will have a factory looking bed I've. Done 2 of them find a friend w a little mig welder to put the new bed side back on. But like I said it takes a lil time to do this if u have any ? Hit me up

If I remember correctly there is a long bead running a few inches in length between the bed and the cab. Obviously I can't reach that weld with a drill bit. I'll give it another look over with your idea in mind, though. Thanks.
